Charities Supported by Zinc
Tour de Cure - www.tourdecure.com.au
Zinc is a proud supporter of cancer research and support projects via the Tour de Cure.
Tour de Cure annually selects and funds cancer projects in the following areas:
- Research projects focused to help find a cure
Over the past nine years Tour de Cure has funded 89 Research, Support and Prevention Projects for men, women and children totalling over $20 million. You may have seen this charity ride on Channel 7's Sunrise show where their sports commentator, Mark Beretta does live crosses from the Tour.
In March/April 2014 the cyclists rode the "signature tour" from Sydney to Hobart via the Snowy Mountains, a total of 1,650km. Of the 60 or so cyclists, 2 were from Port Douglas and one of these, Marco, is an owner of Zinc. Zinc and many other local businesses and residents supported their fundraising efforts with a gala dinner & action night at the restaurant.
Zinc will continue to support this worthy cause via future Tours indefinitely.
